ABOUT ME
Having worked as a Head Brewer, I am excited about my next move into consulting. I have a diploma in brewing and I'm looking forward to working alongside clients who are passionate about beer, brewing, and people.
Where does Veevers come from?
I am someone to whom family means a lot. When I look to the future, I feel more certain and excited about it after having understood and embraced the past.
The name Veevers comes from one of my ancestral lines, and over several generations this name kept cropping up as both a forename and a surname. Its etymology is linked with the Latin faber and then the French fèvre. Perhaps equivalent to the English surname Smith, it is a name that is associated with metal-working; it communicates physical labour and making things. These same ancestors of mine were quarry workers and blacksmiths, and so it seems as though earning a living from hands-on work runs in the blood.

Even before I knew much about my family history, I had a strong feeling that getting an office job straight out of university wouldn't suit me. I had a desire to work physically, to make something, and to learn by doing. Just as I've enjoyed finding out more about my own heritage, in a tradition such as brewing I think it is essential to learn from the centuries of accumulated knowledge in order to grow and adapt. I have been lucky enough to learn a huge amount from working in many breweries, and I have taken my opportunities to learn from many great brewers.

I want to continue sharing this knowledge and experience, working alongside passionate brewers to learn and improve together.
